Cardinal® Red Osier Dogwood
Cornus sericea 'Cardinal'
Winter colors
More brilliant red color than regular species. Also known as red-twig dogwood because of its very distinct and attractive deep red branches. This is a beautiful four-season, upright shrub that is covered with white blossoms in May, pleasant green foliage in summer, then giving way to bright red leaves in the fall, followed by very attractive and eye catching red colored stems in winter that are really set off by a snow cover.
This is an excellent plant for massing in large areas, and because of it's very
interesting stem color, it is also suitable for shrub borders.
Also an effective bank cover since the fibrous root system holds soil quite
well.
Good plant for wildlife.
