True perennial strain.  Not exactly a native, as it is a cultivar created by the Burpee Seed Company in the 1950’s from the native black-eyed Susan.

Very easy to grow! Enjoy the flowers up to 5 inches across!  The blooms will vary from solid gold, to bicolors, and even several doubles.
The basic color and sandpapery-feel leaves are identical to its native parent, the black-eyed susan, but flowers are much larger, varied in form, and most important, this species is perennial.  The native black-eyed susan (Rudbeckia hirta) is biennial, making its yearly bloom much less dependable. Great for cutting, too. A great choice for cut flowers!!.
