Big Sky™ Series Coneflowers

This new Big Sky TM series of echinaceas comes from Itsaul Nurseries in Atlanta, GA. The Saul brothers, who own the company, are going Cone Crazy™!!! These new selections are the result of crosses between E. purpurea and E. paradoxa. They have inherited the dominant characteristics of E. purpurea, having fuller, toothed leaves and wider flower petals. They are well-branched and are vigorous growers.

Water Use: Moderate. Follow a regular watering schedule the first growing season to establish a strong system. After the plant is established, water deeply and less frequently.  Do NOT over water.  They do not like wet feet!

PPAF.  Unauthorized propagation prohibited.  Patent tag included.  All royalties have been paid.

Echinacea 'Sunrise' PPAF

This brand new selection sports citron yellow flowers which will remind you of the sunrise, hence the name!   Its central cone starts out green and then widens and turns gold as it ages. The nice wide flower petals are slightly reflexed and overlap, giving the blossoms a full, substantial presence. This selection grows about 6 inches taller than E. 'Sunset' PPAF. 'Emily Saul'

Deep magenta petals with black-red cone on black stem. Beautiful blue green foliage. Unusual!  The wide flower petals overlap, giving the blossoms a full, substantial presence.  

The plants are well-branched and very compact, growing to only 12 inches high x 12-18" wide.  Perfect for containers and the front of the border.  Long bloom period, too!
