SPRING GROVE® Western
Arborvitae is a fast growing, cold tested arborvitae selected at the Spring
Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A superior selection with dark, glossy green foliage that has maintained
excellent winter color and a tight pyramidal habit. This clone has experienced
-25oF temperatures without missing a beat! It has shown excellent
resistance to deer browsing and bagworm.
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5-8
Size: 18 to 24 feet by 3 to 6 feet wide
Exposure: Full sun, partial shade
Soil: Adaptable to many soils, moderate moisture
The perfect plant for creating the privacy you demand. If you're looking for a
fast growing, but well behaved hedge or screening plant to provide privacy this
is your plant. A much better selection than Spruce which can take up large
amounts of space. Better than your normal Arborvitae which is slower growing and
which is sometimes favored by deer for winter browsing.
