Evening Primrose

Oenothera biennis

Tall, bushy biennial plant with bright yellow flowers. Edible taproot and young leaves.

Usually grown as an annual in Zone 5a or where temperatures fall below -20°F.  Can winter over with good protection.

Used to treat PMS, hyperactivity, atopic eczema, acne, rheumatoid arthritis.  Rich source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
