Flame Grass

Red Flame Miscanthus

Miscanthus var. purpurascens

3-4' tall with broad dark green leaf blades. Narrowly upright; never needs staking. One of the best Miscanthus. With good moisture, leaves will have a reddish cast by mid-summer; fall color is tan to orange. Flowers are a silvery white; late summer. Sun to light shade; better leaf color in higher light.
