Issai Beautyberry (Callicarpa)

Callicarpa dichotoma 'issai'

An extraordinary, Japanese cultivar with a compact growth and violet-lilac fruits.   Good  winter hardiness and fruiting.

Nice choice for low screen. border, or specimen.

Cut branches make nice fall and winter decorations.  Also in demand by florists for dry arrangements.

Best in full sun.. hardy to zone 5.  Height and width without pruning is 3-4 feet.  May also be treated as a perennial and cut back to the ground in spring.  This fast growing shrub will then send up new growth, bloom, and set berries in one season!  This may be a requirement in zone 5 if the winter was severe.
