 Rose of Sharon

Hibiscus syriacus 'Floru'  ppaf

A whole new look for Rose of Sharon! Large, single lavender flowers adorned with a lacy center to create an anemone-like bloom. You'll also appreciate this plants strong growth. Hybridized by Dr. Roderick Woods of England.

USDA Zone 5-8.  Best to maintain 4" of organic mulch in colder climates.

5 to 8 feet by 5 to 6 feet wide, may be pruned to keep it a smaller shrub or trained into a small patio tree

Best in full sun! This beauty thrives in full sun and loves hot weather.

A versatile plant that can be used as a shrub or as a small tree. When grown as a shrub, cut in back hard every other spring to enjoy extra strong blooms. To culture this plant as a small tree cut it back hard in the spring. When the plant begins to grow, select out one stem to form the trunk, removing all other stems. Stake this stem and remove any side branching except at the very top of the stem which will form the head of the tree.

Great for the mixed shrub / perennial border adding bold color in late summer. They are easily trimmed to keep in proper proportion. Combine with fall blooming aster and mums.

Lavender Chiffon combine well with Limelight Hydrangea and any perennial with white flowers. To a truly unique and awesome look train an early blooming white clematis into this plant. Very cool!

Adaptable to many soils, moderate moisture.

These plants have been blooming this summer in the nursery.  A beautiful sight that can be at home in your landscape!
