FRENCH PINK PUSSY WILLOW
Salix gracilistyla
This is also known as the rose-gold pussy willow. It produces showy, pinkish-silver catkins up to two inches in length that glisten in the sunlight. If you examine the catkins closely, you will notice bright red anthers and yellow pollen. The stem color of the rose gold pussy willow is grayish-green in summer turning a reddish brown in winter. The foliage is a cool bluish green, and the ultimate size is manageable. Usually under 10 feet tall.
The plant grows rapidly and needs to be cut back every few years. Like most willows, it grows in moist soil. Keep away from septic fields and tanks. The roots will invade!
Container grown in nursery pots. Shipped bare root to semi-bare root depending on season.
