Saskatoon Serviceberry

Also known as June Berry

 Amelanchier alnifolia

Shrub or small tree  6-10', Zone 3. Masses of small white flowers. Red to orange in fall. Good wildlife food and erosion control. Fruit is harvested commercially in Canada for fresh market or syrup. Very sweet edible fruit.
 

Bushes are spaced 6-8 ft apart in hedgerows 13-16 feet apart. Height is maintained at about 6 ft.

Fully mature fruit are best for fresh consumption or wine.

Plants sent are grown as a shrub form.  May be trained as a small tree.
