Sancho Panza Lavender

sancho panza          sancho panza bloomnza

Spanish type Lavender.  This type has very unusual blooms and is sometimes called "Rabbit Ears" Lavender.  Sancho Panza can be grown as an annual or a perennial. It is winter hardy in USDA Zone 8 and up for wintering the plant outdoors. Farther north, grow it in a container, and bring it indoors over winter

Sancho Panza's plant habit is a dense, rounded, compact habit that will be covered with blooms all summer long. Perfect size for an ornamental pot. Like all Lavender, it prefers full sun and moderately fertile soil that drains well.  The foliage is grayish green in color, and bloom spikes that are 4 - 5 inches long have pine-cone-shaped blooms of dark purple. The blooms are highly scented.

  • USDA Zones: 8 - 10
  • Height: 12 - 16 inches
  • Bloom Season: Late spring to late summer
  • Bloom Color: Purple
  • Exposure: Full sun
