September BeautyŽ Summersweet

 clethra alnifolia PP#10481

A late blooming selection of Summersweet! Now you can have even more fragrance in the garden, later in the year. Blooms after other selections to extend bloom time.

This is the best selection of white flowered summersweet. Unlike seedling grown selections that can be inconsistent in flower and in form, 'September BeautyŽ' is a consistent performing clone grown strictly from cuttings.

The flowers are big and are comprised of several panicles to provide greater impact. September BeautyŽ has attractive dark glossy green foliage and consistently good yellow fall color.

Hardiness: USDA Zone 4-9

Size: 4 to 6 feet by 3 to 4 feet

Exposure: Partial shade is ideal but will tolerate full sun or shade.

Soil: Best suited for moist soils high in organics. Avoid soils high in chalk.

Uses: Great when used in a perennial garden to add fragrance and texture . Use in the back or middle of the shrub border or as a accent around your patio. Can also be quite effective used close to an entrance or window where you can best enjoy it's sweet fragrance.
